Terms and Conditions
General Entry is after 4pm on the date of arrival and departure is no later than 10am on date of departure, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Booking Please complete the online booking here. Please be aware that under Scottish law bookings are contractually binding.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required on booking, with the balance required six weeks prior to the booked arrival date. On completion of an online booking, we will issue a deposit invoice for settlement within 48 hours.
An invoice for the remaining balance must be paid in full not less than six weeks before the commencement of the letting period. The Lessor may treat the booking as cancelled if the balance of the hire charge is not sent by this date. Alternatively, in the event that you are making a booking with less than six weeks’ notice before the date of commencement, then the invoice will reflect the total value of your booking. Deposit invoices are due for immediate settlement.
Payment All invoices are submitted electronically by email. Payments can be made by direct bank transfer in sterling from a UK bank account. We also accept cheques drawn upon a United Kingdom bank account. All payments must be made in UK Sterling.
We do not process credit cards remotely by telephone or by written email instruction so for your own security please do not send us your credit card details by email which is an insecure process.
Cancellations by The Consumer Please understand that when you make a booking the Hirer is liable for the full cost of the let. In the event of a cancellation if we are successful in re-letting the property we will provide a refund less a 20% administration charge. In the event of a cancellation please notify us at the earliest opportunity by telephone and subsequently with a written confirmation in order to maximise the opportunity of establishing a re-let.
Accordingly, The Hirer agrees that, in the event of Cancellation, while all reasonable efforts will be made by the lessor to re-let, the Hirer will be responsible for paying for the period of tenancy booked if a substitute cannot be found.
We encourage the Hirer to review their holiday travel insurance policy to ensure that you have adequate cover for all eventualities.
Cancellations by The Owner - Force Majeure In the event that, for whatever reason, Cressex Lodge is rendered unable to continue trading, we reserve the right to cancel future bookings without liability. Under such circumstances we undertake to provide the earliest possible notice of cancellation for future bookings and further undertake to immediately return any such deposit monies as may have been paid.
Additional consequential costs incurred by the consumer will be a matter for their holiday insurance arrangements.
No Smoking There is an absolute prohibition of smoking of any description including all tobacco products and E cigarettes (vaping). This stipulation is designed to maintain and provide an unpolluted clean and healthy environment for all future guests.
Pets In order to eliminate the possibilities of allergens and to maximise the opportunity of a clean and healthy environment for all future guests, pets are not allowed. Assistance Dog We welcome an assistance dog. Please be sure to bring your own feeding utensils and dog food as we do not have provision for supporting requisites.
Cleaning And Leaving Whilst we clean Cressex Lodge thoroughly between lettings it is a condition of your let that you leave the property and its contents in the same clean and tidy condition that you found it. We reserve the right to impose a charge of £25.00 for additional cleaning if this condition has not been met fully.
The Hirer agrees to vacate the hired premises without delay or demand at the termination of the period of hire.
Limitations: Cressex Lodge is available for a maximum of two people only occupying the premises which must not be exceeded.
The Hirer may not sub-let the premises or any part thereof and may not transfer their letting agreement to any other person or persons.
The Lessor, their agents or employees, accept no responsibility for loss, injury or damage to any member of the Hirer’s party or their property, arising in any manner out of the let of the premises, howsoever caused. Hirers risk is therefore a matter for their own insurance.
Damage or Loss The Hirer agrees to pay the lessor in respect of any loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear.
Hirer’s Undertakings The Hirer shall undertake to prevent any member of his party from causing a nuisance or disturbance to neighbouring residents or occupiers. The Hirer undertakes to leave the hired premises secure if left unoccupied during the period of let.
The Hirer undertakes to relieve the Lessor from any liability for damage or injury by any member of his party, however caused.
The Hirer warrants that the let (Cressex Lodge) is to be used for the purposes of a Holiday. Accordingly, Section 12(2) and Paragraphs of Schedule 4 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 applies to the letting to the Hirer
Right of Entry We reserve the right of entry to the properties at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspection or to carry out repairs or maintenance.
