​​Local Amenities 
Cressex Lodge is situated just seven minutes drive from the Pentland Ferry berthing port in the quaint little village of St. Margaret's Hope.

The village has a traditional establishment The Murray Arms with good honest fare in The Fisherman's Daughter restaurant, and the 'Gun Deck' al fresco sun-trap eating area all with pleasant service and a chance to meet the local folk.  

​There is also a speciality bar and café 
Robertsons and two convenience shops including post office (with a cash facility). There is also a community garden, blacksmith Museum, Art Gallery and Craft shop. You can even take pony and trap driving lessons or just enjoy the ride with Gaira Driving Ponies.
